Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers (ADCPs) offer a highly effective method for monitoring river discharge. ADCPs can help obtain accurate discharge measurements in a variety of sites ranging from small streams to the largest of rivers. This very practical training workshop is for new starters and moderately experienced ADCP users alike.
The course will introduce how ADCP instruments work, how to collect river discharge measurements with ADCPs from both Teledyne RD Instruments and Sontek and how to process and validate that data. The course will help also delegates understand how ADCPs are vital in enabling and supporting the move toward exciting new technologies like drones, phones, and radar.
The course is planned for 21- 24 September 2021.
