The National River Flow Archive (NRFA) is excited to announce the launch of its newly redesigned website, featuring a modern, clean look and a host of new features aimed at improving user experience and accessibility for the community.

The revamped website boasts an enhanced search page, making it easier than ever for users to find the data they need. The new search functionality allows for advanced filtering of stations and the ability to plot data from multiple stations directly from the search page

In addition to the improved search capabilities, users can now download both historic and live data directly from the station pages. This integration allows the NRFA’s quality-controlled records, which are typically one year behind as they go through the QC process, to be combined with near-real-time data from the Environment Agency and Scottish Environment Protection Agency. This provides greater flexibility and convenience for researchers, policymakers, and the public.

Another new feature is the introduction of a feedback form for gauging stations. Available on each gauging station page, this form allows users to provide valuable input specific to the station, which will be shared with the Measuring Authorities to ensure the highest standards of data quality and reliability.

Also newly available on the catchment information pages, users can now compare Land Cover Maps using a 'side-by-side' feature in the map.

“We are thrilled to bring these updates to our users,” said Isabella Tindall, NRFA Manager. “The new design and features reflect our commitment to providing the best possible service and making our data more accessible and useful to everyone.”

The NRFA invites all users to explore the new website, which is now optimised for mobile devices, and take advantage of the new features. If you spot anything that doesn’t look quite right, please let us know using the contact details below.
