The process of harmonising the content of this dataset (both flow peaks and gauging station metadata) with information already held on the NRFA began in autumn 2013. The data harmonisation has been completed for key metadata, including: station numbers, river names, station names, geographical locations, station types and station descriptions.

While the station descriptions and other metadata have been harmonised, the overall process is still ongoing. Users should be aware that metadata not yet integrated is presented on the ‘Station info’ tab of NRFA station pages, marked with an *. 

Station number changes

As a result of the data harmonisation a significant number of changes were made to this metadata. This page does not detail all changes, however, where the NRFA station number previously given on the HiFlows-UK website has been modified, the corrections are listed below:
